Danson Boathouse Wedding Photography Bexleyheath. I have always wanted to photograph a wedding at the Danson Boathouse as I had missed an opportunity earlier… It has such amazing surroundings with the lake, gardens, and beautiful landscape views and if you are very very lucky – the Boathouse has an AMAZING view of the sunset (I was very, very lucky!!).
So when Clive booked me for his wedding at the Boathouse, I was very very happy! Clive and Amanda were very keen for me to capture their day in a very natural, photo-journalistic way, which I was more than happy to do, as this is my natural style when it comes to photographing weddings.
The Boathouse
When I arrived at the venue, I was greeted by the Boathouse staff and I have to say that I was really impressed by their professionalism and friendliness… I knew that Clive and Amanda were in very good hands and would be very well looked after!!!
After surveying the venue for the best available photography ‘hotspots’, the ceremony was soon underway and it was lovely to see Clive and Amanda looking so relaxed and happy. With the ceremony complete, Clive and Amanda asked for some group shots outside, unfortunately, the dear old British weather had turned slightly and we were greeted with more wind chill than we would have liked, so after a few shots we decided to continue with the remainder of the formal photos indoors – thankfully, due to the fantastic venue and the happiness of the wedding party, the end results turned out to be very successful and well received.
Speech Time
It was soon time for the speeches, anticipated by most yet dreaded by some! As a photographer, I really enjoy this part of the day as I can capture some fantastic natural reactions and emotions from outright laughter to outright tears! The best man and Father of the bride’s speeches went down very well and set the bride and groom off on the road to marriage nicely.
Following a great wedding and, in my case, a successful shoot it was time for me to leave and let the celebrations get into full swing but, as I was preparing to depart, I happened to see a gorgeous sunset and quickly approached the bride and groom and asked if they wanted a really special picture – the answer was of course “yes” and the result is the very last picture below. I hope you like them.
