Admiral Hardy Greenwich Wedding Photographer
Admiral Hardy Greenwich Wedding Photographer. When Chris first got in touch through my website, one line immediately stood out: “I can see you have done weddings in our venue before which is fantastic!” Knowing a venue inside out always helps, and I was so excited to be back at The Admiral Hardy in the heart of Greenwich for another brilliant wedding.
The day started upstairs in the bridal suite, where Natalie and her bridesmaids enjoyed a wonderfully relaxed morning. There was no rushing around or last-minute panic, just plenty of smiles as everyone was getting ready. Downstairs, Chris had asked for a documentary approach, so rather than staging anything, I simply followed him and his groomsmen/groomswoman as they enjoyed a few drinks at the bar before guests began arriving. These natural moments are exactly what I love capturing.
The ceremony room at The Admiral Hardy is a fantastic space – bright, spacious and large enough for all of Chris and Natalie’s family, friends and work colleagues to comfortably gather together. Their ceremony itself was short, intimate and full of warmth, made even more special by a beautiful reading from one of Natalie’s bridesmaids.
Natalie looked stunning in her elegant fitted ivory gown with delicate beaded detailing, carrying a beautiful bouquet of white flowers that perfectly complemented her look. Chris looked equally smart in a navy checked three-piece suit, finished with tan shoes and a classic white boutonnière.
After the ceremony we headed into Greenwich for their portraits. The grounds of the Old Royal Naval College never disappoints, and the magnificent colonnades at the University of Greenwich created some incredible architectural backdrops. On the walk back, we couldn’t resist stopping in Greenwich Market. It’s one of my favourite places to photograph couples, capturing them naturally as they walk hand in hand through the busy market while life carries on all around them.
Back at The Admiral Hardy, Chris & Natalie spent the afternoon exactly as they wanted – chatting, laughing and catching up with everyone who had come to celebrate with them. The atmosphere all day was fantastic, with guests constantly laughing and enjoying themselves.
As always, I focused on photographing the day as it happened, blending into the background and documenting genuine moments rather than directing them. That’s what documentary wedding photography is all about.
The evening began with a beautiful first dance that perfectly opened the celebrations, before the dance floor quickly filled. From there it became one big party, with plenty of singing, dancing and laughter – the perfect ending to a fantastic Greenwich wedding.
