Wedding Photography London Greenwich Yacht Club. As a documentary-style wedding photographer, I live for authentic, real moments. Sally and Reece’s London wedding at the historic Greenwich Yacht Club (GYC) was a perfect venue for my candid approach, which captured emotion, beauty, and a whole lot of fun!

Sally first discovered my work through photos I’d taken at the GYC, a venue known for its nautical history and riverside charm. Fun fact: Founded in 1908, it’s one of London’s oldest sailing clubs, with a clubhouse that has timeless maritime character. Sally and Reece decorated the GYC with delicate LED lights, cascading ribbons, and personalized touches like mini bottles of Hurricane—a New Orleans classic, paying homage to their shared love of travel.

The ceremony room, draped in soft ceiling fabrics, felt both grand and intimate, perfectly sized for their 90 closest loved ones. Their vows were short and heartfelt. With a large wedding party of siblings and lifelong friends surrounding them, there was definitely a vibrant atmosphere!!!

As their photographer, I really enjoyed capturing Sally and Reece. They couldn’t stop laughing together. For portraits, we wandered around the yacht club’s scenic grounds against the backdrop of the River Thames and a rustic boatyard. We didn’t take too long, as Sally and Reece didn’t want to be away from their guests for too long.

The celebration moved to the clubhouse, where a live band and dancefloor awaited. After a quick first dance, the energy exploded. Guests—already in high spirits—flooded the floor, laughing, mingling, and singing!!! My documentary style thrived here, capturing the good time people were having on the dancefloor.

Sally and Reece’s wedding reminded me why I love candid photography so much. It’s not just about pretty details; it’s all about the real moments—hugs, kisses, dancing, and all the other moments in between.
