Wedding Photographer Asylum Peckham South East London. I was extremely excited to be asked by Jamie and Keely to photograph their wedding. When they told me that it was in a chapel in an old asylum my first thoughts were…wow that’s different!! But when I actually turned up and saw the chapel I was like “WOW THAT’S AMAZING!!!”

The Asylum is a very unique place to get married and is based in Caroline Gardens Chapel in Peckham. I certainly have never photographed anything like this before. It is surrounded by beautiful green open spaces in front and behind the chapel.
When we arrived at the chapel for the first time, you could see the buzz and excitement among the guests.

Right from the beginning when I met Jamie and Keely – they were very adamant that they just wanted to keep it very informal with no structure to the day at all and I really did share their vision for the whole day. This meant that I could capture their wedding day by taking candid pictures of their guests with families, children and friends genuinely having a great time… Not having any of the formal or traditional pictures to take felt a little unusual at first – however, before long I got into the swing of things and managed to capture some fantastic shots.

There was a fantastic barbecue and bouncy castle which meant that everybody was entertained in some way whether it was food/drink or play everyone was happy. Jamie and Keely also had arranged a photo booth so everyone was queuing up to take some fun snaps for the bride and groom.

Jamie and Keely have a very large circle of friends and when it was time for the first dance the dance floor was flooded with friends and family. Jamie and Keely carried on partying until late late late hours of the night!!!
